Comodo joins TCG to help accelerate the adoption of trusted computing principles across the industry
Bradford, UK, 3rd June 2003. Comodo, the Internet security specialist, has joined the likes of AMD, HP, IBM, Intel and Microsoft in the Trusted Computing Group (TCG), a highly respected industry group dedicated to ensuring that trust and security are more broadly adopted into computing platforms and devices. TCG will develop and promote open industry standard specifications for trusted computing hardware building blocks and software interfaces across multiple platforms, including PCs, servers, PDAs, and digital phones. This will enable more secure data storage, online business practices, and online commerce transactions while protecting privacy and individual rights. TCG has adopted existing trusted computing specifications from the Trusted Computing Platform Alliance (TCPA) and will extend and enhance these specifications. For more information on TCG, see www.trustedcomputinggroup.org.
"Comodo's successful business model has been built on the premise that every facet of the PC eco system and indeed every individual user, needs a greater level of confidence that only trusted computing can deliver. Comodo has the range of hardware and software solutions to help enforce these principles and membership within TCG can only succeed to strengthen their adoption." says Steve Roylance, Technical Marketing Director of Comodo. "We have locks on car doors, house doors, any door that we need to protect,'' said Melih Abdulhayoglu, chief security architect of Comodo Group, "Anything of value is important, and it's about time we start protecting it. TCG is an excellent soap box to the industry at large, with the added advantage that industry listens and users adopt".
"We appreciate the fresh perspectives that a diverse set of members offer to TCG, and welcome companies such as Comodo to the group." says Geoffrey Strongin, Chief Security Architect at AMD.
